Ingredients (8)

1 cup sugarsugar
1/4 cup flourflour
2 tablespoons melted butter or 2 tablespoons margarinemargarine
1 teaspoon grated lemon, rind oflemon
1/3 cup lemon juicelemon-juice
3 egg yolks, slightly beatenegg
3 egg whites, beaten to stiff peaksegg
1 1/2 cups milkmilk

Instructions (10 steps)

01Preheat oven to 350°F.
02Grease eight (6 ounce) custard cups; set aside.
03In a large bowl, beat sugar, flour and butter/margarine.
04Add lemon peel and lemon juice; set aside.
05In a small bowl, mix egg yolks and milk.
06Add to cream mixture and stir.

07Fold in egg whites.

08Pour into cups.

09Place in baking pan and add one inch of water to pan.

10Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden.
