Candied Yams with Cranberries

This is a delicious variation on candied yams. The fresh cranberries add a slight tartness that cuts down on the sweetness characteristic of traditional candied yams. This recipe was taken from a bag of miniature marshmallows many years ago and I recently re-discovered it. Hope you like it as much as I do!

Ingredients (8)

1/2 cup flourflour
1/2 cup packed brown sugarbrown-sugar
1/2 cup oatmeal, uncooked
1 teaspoon cinnamoncinnamon
1/3 cup butterbutter
2 (17 ounce) cans yams, drainedyam
2 cups cranberries, rawcranberry
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallowsmarshmallow

Instructions (7 steps)

01Combine flour, sugar, oats and cinnamon.
02Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
03Lightly toss 1 cup crumb mixture with yams and cranberries.
04Arrange in a 1 1/2 quart casserole.
05Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
06Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
