1 (18 1/2 ounce) package yellow cake mixyellow-cake-mix
2 large eggsegg
1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packedbrown-sugar
1/4 cup melted butterbutter
1/4 cup waterwater
2 cups chocolate chips, dividedchocolate-chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans or 1/2 cup walnutswalnut
1 tablespoon shorteningshortening

Instructions (7 steps)

01Combine the first 5 ingredients.
02Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
03Stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1/2 cup nuts.
04Spread in greased 9x13 pan.
05Bake at 375° for 20-25 minutes.
06Melt shortening with remaining chocolate chips.

07Drizzle over the top and cut into bars.
