This cookie is a wonderful soft cookie that will keep you sneaking more after the kids go to bed. I think I have seen these cookies being called lady fingers also. Yummy any time of the year, but just remind me of Christmas!!!!

1 3/4 cups flourflour
3/4 teaspoon baking powderbaking-powder
1/4 teaspoon saltsalt
2/3 cup butterbutter
1 cup sugarsugar
1 egg, well beatenegg
1/2 teaspoon vanillavanilla
2 tablespoons milkmilk

Instructions (14 steps)

01Mix flour, baking powder and salt, set aside.
02Cream butter and sugar.
03Stir in egg and vanilla.
04Beat in dry ingredients.
05Add milk and mix.
06Chill dough for 30 minutes.
07Roll and cut into desired shapes.

Bake at 400 degrees for 8-12 minutes.

09Glaze with your favorite glaze or with this frosting:.

102 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 cup butter, 1 tsp vanilla.

12Add more powdered sugar if frosting is too thin.

13Add food coloring if desired and spread on cookies.
