Pineapple/teriyaki Sauce

I'm not sure what to call this...I tossed it together for tonight's chicken breasts...Sweet and Spicy!! It's really very good!! Not for the faint at heart though...it has a little kick.

Ingredients (8)

serves

1 (14 ounce) can pineapple chunks, with no sugar added juicepineapple
6 garlic cloves, choppedgarlic
1 inch ginger, peeled and choppedginger
1/2 cup soy saucesoy-sauce
2 tablespoons mirinmirin
3 dashes sesame oilsesame-oil
1 teaspoon crushed red chili pepper (probably closer to 1 1/2)
1/2 cup brown sugarbrown-sugar

Instructions (3 steps)

01Mix all ingredients in a heavy sauce pan.
02Simmer for 5 minutes.
03While simmering use the immersion blender to blend. It thickens up without any thickening agent.
