I serve this every year for Christmas brunch, Easy and good. After I make it I put it in the crockpot on low on the buffet and its always a big hit. I usually double the recipe ( I sometimes double the recipe and still use only 1/2 lb. sausage).

1/2 lb sausagesausage
1/4 cup butterbutter
1/3 cup all-purpose flourflour
3 1/4 cups milkmilk
1/2 teaspoon saltsalt
1/2 teaspoon pepperpepper

Instructions (13 steps)

01Brown sausage in skillet, stirring until it crumbles.
02Drain, reserving 1 Tbs.
03drippings in skillet.
04Set sausage aside.
05Add butter to drippings, heat over low heat.
06Add flour, stirring until smooth.
07Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
08Gradually add milk, cook over medium heat stirring constantly.
