1 1/2 lbs fresh green beans, cut into 1 inch piecesgreen-beans
6 slices bacon, strips dicedbacon
1 large onion, choppedonion
salt, to tastesalt
pepper, to tastepepper

Instructions (9 steps)

01Place beans in a saucepan and cover with water; bring to a boil.
02Reduce heat; cover and cook for 15-20 minutes or until tender.
03Meanwhile, in a skillet, cook bacon until crisp.
04Remove bacon and set aside.
05Saute onion in drippings until tender; remove with a slotted spoon.
06Drain beans; return to pan.
07Add onion, 1 tablespoon drippings, salt and pepper; heat through.

08Crumble the bacon; add to the beans and toss.

09Serve immediately.
