1/2 cup finely chopped oniononion
1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarinemargarine
2 medium tomatoes, peeled, seeded and choppedtomato
1 (4 ounce) can green chili peppers, rinsed, seeded and choppedpepper
1/4 teaspoon saltsalt
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheesecheddar
milkmilk
tortilla chips or corn chips

Instructions (7 steps)

01In a medium skillet, cook onion in butter until tender but not brown.
02Stir in tomatoes, chili peppers and salt.
03Simmer, uncovered for 10 minutes.
04Add cheese a little at a time, stirring until cheese melts.
05Stir in a little milk if mixture becomes too thick.

Serve immediately with chips.

07Keep warm in a fondue pot over low heat.
