3/4 cup chopped bell pepperbell-pepper
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsleyparsley
3/4 cup chopped oniononion
3/4 cup thinly sliced celerycelery
2 (16 ounce) cans kidney beans, drainedkidney-beans
1 (16 ounce) can stewed tomatoesstewed-tomatoes
1 (12 ounce) can tomato pastetomato-paste
2 cups waterwater
1/3 cup sugarsugar
2 teaspoons dried sweet basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon dried oreganooregano
2 teaspoons saltsalt
2 teaspoons ground cumincumin
2 teaspoons chili powderchili-powder
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder (Or the real stuff)garlic

Instructions (5 steps)

01Brown ground beef in a dutch oven.

Drain and return to pan.

03Add bell pepper, parsley, onion and celery.

04Saute until onion is clear, approximately 5 minutes.

05Add remaining ingredients and simmer 1-1/2 to 2 hours.
