3 lbs boneless beef chuck roast
1/2 teaspoon saltsalt
1/2 teaspoon pepperpepper
1 cup waterwater
1 cup ketchupketchup
1/4 cup red wine or 1/4 cup beef broth
1 envelope brown gravy mix
2 teaspoons Dijon mustarddijon-mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauceworcestershire
1/8 teaspoon garlic powdergarlic-powder
3 tablespoons cornstarchcornstarch
1/4 cup cold waterwater

Instructions (9 steps)

01Place roast in 5 qt slow cooker.
02Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
03In a bowl, combine the water, ketchup, wine or broth, gravy mix, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder; pour over meat.
04Cover and cook on low for 9-10 hours or until meat is tender.
