3 lbs potatoes (large Russet variety, peeled)potato
splash of milkmilk
1/2 cup butter (one whole stick, or more to taste)butter
salt (to taste)salt
pepper (to taste)pepper
1 lb ground hamburger
3 tbsp beef bouillon
1/3 cup butterbutter
1/4 cup all-purpose flourflour
4 cups waterwater

Instructions (6 steps)

01Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook for about 15 minutes, or until tender. Drain the potatoes.
02With mixer set on a low speed (or using a hand masher), combine the potatoes with all the remaining ingredients until smooth. This should just take a couple minutes.
03For Optional Gravy: Brown the hamburger in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Drain and return to burner. Over medium heat, add butter and bouillon.
04When the butter has melted, add flour and mix until blended. Slowly add water while stirring.
