This delicious recipe came from a friend - and I never make the powdered stuff anymore. This recipe can easily be doubled and put in a larger pitcher.

4 whole Lemons (more If They Are Small)lemon
1 whole Orangeorange
¾ cups White Sugarsugar
4 cups Water, Dividedwater
20 whole Ice Cubesice

Instructions (4 steps)

01Juice the lemons and the orange.
02Mix the sugar with 1 cup of the water and heat to a slow boil, cooking for about 2 minutes until sugar is dissolved. This will allow the sugar to mix in better instead of sitting on the bottom of the pitcher. Allow to cool a little.
03Mix the juices with the sugar water, remaining water, and ice cubes. Mix well and adjust lemon as necessary to desired tartness.
04(I always double this recipe and serve in a large pitcher, as it goes so quickly. Black and Decker makes an inexpensive electric juicer that makes the job go like a snap.)
