Grandma's Cranberry Sauce

This is the only cranberry sauce that I have found that I like. It is my grandmother's recipe. This is the original recipe. I am going to modify this year to do whole berries and just pare the apples ahead of time.

Ingredients (4)

3 medium apples (I use granny smith)apple
1 lb cranberries, washed and picked overcranberry
1 1/2 cups waterwater
3 cups sugar (my grandma's original recipe but I have cut mine down to 2 cups)sugar

Instructions (5 steps)

01Cut up 3 medium apples with peeling. Put in kettle with cranberries and water.
02Boil until skins pop.
03Push cranberries through fine sieve into bowl to capture the skins of cranberries and apples.
04Add sugar to bowl and then put back to boil. Cook for 5 minutes. Pour into bowl.
05Let Cool before putting saran wrap on and putting in fridge.
