2 1/3 cups lentils (1 lb)
1 small bay leafbay-leaf
5 cups waterwater
2 teaspoons saltsalt
1 teaspoon dry mustardmustard
1/4 teaspoon ground gingerginger
1 tablespoon soy saucesoy-sauce
1/2 cup chopped oniononion
1 cup waterwater
1/3 cup honeyhoney

Instructions (11 steps)

01In a dutch oven or saucepan combine lentils, bay leaf, 5 cups water and salt.
02Bring to a boil.
03Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes.
04Discard bay leaf.
05Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
06In a bowl combine dry mustard, ginger, soy sauce, onions and 1 cup water.

07Add to lentils.

08Pour honey on top.

09Cover tightly.

10Bake for 1 hour.

11Serve over rice.
