12 ounces best-quality chocolate, chopped (I use bittersweet, semi-sweet would be good too)
3/4 cup butterbutter
1 1/4 cups sugarsugar
1 tablespoon vanillavanilla
4 large eggsegg
1 teaspoon saltsalt
1 cup all-purpose flourflour
1 cup chocolate chipschocolate-chips
1 cup walnuts, choppedwalnut

Instructions (9 steps)

01Preheat oven to 350F and place rack in middle of oven.
02Butter and flour a 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
03Melt chocolate with butter, stirring, until mixture is smooth.
04Let cool until lukewarm.
05Stir in sugar, vanilla and eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition.
