Ingredients (14)

1/2 cup butterbutter
1/2 cup shorteningshortening
1 cup sugarsugar
1 cup brown sugarbrown-sugar
2 large eggsegg
1 teaspoon vanillavanilla
2 cups flourflour
2 1/2 cups oatmeal, ground in a blender til it resembles flour (will make ~2 cups oat flour)
1/2 teaspoon saltsalt
1 teaspoon baking sodabaking-soda
1 teaspoon baking powderbaking-powder
12 ounces chocolate chips (1 large package)
4 ounces Hershey chocolate candy bars, grated
1 1/2 cups chopped pecanspecan

Instructions (10 steps)

01Prepare oatmeal flour in blender.
02Cream butter and sugars.
03Add eggs and vanilla to creamed butter/sugar mixture.

In separate bowl, mix flour, salt, oat flour, baking soda and baking powder.

05Add to creamed butter mixture and mix well.

06Add chips, grated chocolate and nuts.

07Make 1 1/2 inch balls and space them 2 inches apart on baking sheet.

08Bake at 375° for 6 minutes. Check them.

09If just starting to crisp and brown, remove them. If not, check every minute or two.

10Let rest a couple of minutes and remove to a rack to cool.
