1 (18 ounce) box German chocolate cake mix
1 cup chopped nutschopped-nuts
1/3 cup evaporated milk, plusevaporated-milk
1/2 cup evaporated milk, dividedevaporated-milk
1/2 cup melted butterbutter
60 vanilla caramels (unwrapped)vanilla
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chipschocolate-chips

Instructions (9 steps)

01Combine cake mix, nuts, 1/3 c milk and butter.
02Press half of the batter into a greased 13x9 pan.
03Bake 350 for 8 minutes.
04In microwave melt caramels with 1/2 c milk - mix well.
05Pour melted caramels over baked layer.
06Cover the caramel layer with chocolate chips.

07Pour remaining cake batter on top.

08Bake 18 minutes (or less for gooier brownies).

09Let cool and cut.
