1 orange, for zestorange
4 tablespoons granulated sugarsugar
6 tablespoons waterwater
4 tablespoons Cointreau liqueur or 4 tablespoons orange-flavored liqueurliqueur
4 cups strawberries, halved or quarteredstrawberry
1/2 cup whipping creamcream
powdered sugar, to sweeten the whipped cream to your tastesugar
4 whole strawberries, for garnishstrawberry

Instructions (8 steps)

01Peel wide strips of zest without the pith from orange and cut into very thin strips. (Put aside rest of orange for another use.).
02In small saucepan, combine granulated sugar and water; bring to the boil over high heat.
03Add orange zest; reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
04Remove from heat and let syrup cool; stir in liqueur.
