1/2 cup unsalted butter, softenedbutter
1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packeddark-brown-sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar, scantsugar
1 cup smooth peanut butter or 1 cup chunky peanut butterbutter
1 eggegg
1 1/2 cups sifted flourflour
1/2 teaspoon saltsalt
1/2 teaspoon baking sodabaking-soda
1/2 teaspoon vanillavanilla

Instructions (10 steps)

01Preheat oven to 350°F.
02Cream together the butter, brown and granulated sugars.
03Add the peanut butter and egg; beat well.
04In a small bowl, combine the sifted flour, salt and baking soda.
05Stir with whisk to combine.

Gradually stir into butter mixture, stirring well after each addition to blend.

07Add vanilla and beat well.

08Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on greased cookie sheet about 2-inches apart.

09Flatten each ball with a fork in a crisscross pattern.

10Bake for 10-12 minutes or until slightly browned around the edges.
