1 onion, finely choppedonion
3 tablespoons oiloil
1 cup Heinz ketchupketchup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauceworcestershire
1/4 cup vinegar (white or brown)vinegar
1/4 cup waterwater
2 tablespoons brown sugarbrown-sugar
1 lemonlemon
2 teaspoons paprikapaprika
1/4 teaspoon chili powderchili-powder

Instructions (6 steps)

01Gently saute the finely chopped onion in the oil.
02Add tomato ketchup, Worcestershire Sauce, water, vinegar and brown sugar to the onions.
03Remove a thin strip of peel from the lemon and add to the pan WITH the JUICE from the lemon.
04Add to this the paprika and chilli powder.
05Simmer VERY GENTLY for 1/2 hour, after which time the sauce should be thick and richly flavoured, and the oil absorbed into the sauce.
