Flaky Butter Pie Crust

• 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flourflour
• 1/4 teaspoon saltsalt
• 1/2 cup butter, chilled and dicedbutter
• 1/4 cup ice water + 2 teaspoonsice

1. 01In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
2. 02Using a pasty blender or forks, cut in cold butter until mixture resembles pea sized crumbs.
3. 03Stir in 1/4 cup water, a tablespoon at a time (4 Tablespoons total), until mixture forms a ball. May be slightly sticky. If dough is dry, add 1 teaspoon of cold water and a second teaspoon if needed.
4. 04Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
5. 05On a floured surface, roll dough out to fit a 9 inch pie plate.
6. 06Place crust in pie plate. Press the dough evenly into the bottom and sides of the pie plate.
7. 07Decorate or crimp edges.
8. 08Chill or freeze crust again until nice and cold
9. 09Bake according to the fillings directions.
